Response to ayesha mocking others: sahih sanad

The following is a response to SlaveOfAhlubait’s “ayesha mocking others: sahih sanad”. The article can be found on his blog and the Wilayat website.

The article contains the following narration:

“ayesha says that once i started mockery of a man or a woman in the presence of holy propet asws, so he said that if i get something even more in return, i will not mock anyone nor i like mockery; i said that safia is this much, and then i pointed of her being dwarf/short heighted; upon this prophet asws said that you have said something which if mixed with water of sea, it will change colour of that”

{molvi zafar iqbal mentions there that narration is sahih as per Albany and hasan sahih as per timidhi}

[musnad ahmad, urdu, vol 11, page 419-420]

There is little doubt of the authenticity of this report, though we find it to be an indication of the honesty of A’isha. It is not a common act for one to speak of their own faults, and in this narration, A’isha confesses that the Prophet – peace be upon him – reprimanded her for backbiting.

We do not find any other narrations in which A’isha backbites others, so one cannot say that this was her nature. We also do not find others narrating similar events, which leads us to the conclusion that if A’isha never admitting that she sinned, then it would not have been known.

It is also important to keep in mind that narration illustrates an A’isha that is in her later years, perhaps in her fifties or sixties, who is looking back at her actions as a teenager, and sharing the words of the Prophet – peace be upon him – as a lesson to all, while using herself as an example of the culprit.

  1. It’s amazing how they can turn an act of humility into a fault. May Allah protect us from the disease they are inflicted with

  2. you said ” We do not find any other narrations in which A’isha backbites others, so one cannot say that this was her nature.” why are you trying to deceive your readers by suggesting this was a one off incident?

    Aisha did backbite on more than one occasion. here is just one example in abu dawud and this hadith is sahih according to albani:

    Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin: I said to the Prophet (ﷺ): It is enough for you in Safiyyah that she is such and such (the other version than Musaddad’s has:) meaning that she was short-statured. He replied; You have said a word which would change the sea if it were mixed in it. She said: I imitated a man before him (out of disgrace). He said: I do not like that I imitate anyone even if I should get such and such.

    so as we can see here, she was clearly backbiting another wife of the prophet (s) by saying negative things behind her back which were so bad that the prophet (s) said that they would change the colour of the sea !

    you have been exposed !

    • Actually it’s your own ignorance that was exposed, what you quoted is the exact same incident and narration discussed in our article. I add, that we didn’t say there aren’t any, we said we didn’t find any.

  3. why do you keep deleting my posts? what are you trying to hide from people? well there are other incidents of Aisha backbiting and acting on backbiting also from your own sahih narrations. If i can show you more incidents then will that change your way of thinking or will you carry on with your brainwashed mindset?

  4. Jafar Abas you are hypocrisy, respect the wife of prophet what happened has happened, Allah is justice and he forgives every thing except Shirk, so all shi3a are Moshriks.
    Don’t act like innocent, your comments is visible to me and iam not seeing something important, just nonesense, be a good manner, you sound like mindless subhuman mushrik shi3a.
